Happy Birthday To Me!

Hello ALL!!!!

Well its been a while friends! I need to apologize first for my absense. No excuses, just life getting in the way of my passion. But I'm back hopefully with a nice little post to show you guys. I would like to thank my friend Dawn from Inspired Living for checking in on me to see if I was okay.

My Birthday was on Friday the 30th, and the hub had a few suprises up his sleeves and treated me to a nice evening capped with a delicious chocolate mouse cake. Saturday morning I was up at 5:57am I decided to treat my self to a trip to the L.A. Flower Mart. A place I have mentioned before that I love to go to. I havent been able to go lately. After early morning cleaning, I wake the Hub up around 7:30 and we take off.

After getting home from the Flower Mart the Hub decided to tell me that we were going to lunch and we had a hour to get there. So I was rushed into making the arrangement. However you can't rush art. So an hour and a half later, I pulled out some plates and thought this would be a nice opportunity to display my new plate chargers.

and TAAADAAA!!

This is probably one of my favorite settings I have done. The silver tray was giving to me by the Hubs mom as a gift. She knew I would cherish it and get much joy from it.

I hope you guys enjoy it!

Until Next time,

Always,

Boston

It has been 3 days since this tragedy and I am still trying to process it all. It saddens me deeply that 3 people lost their life senselessly. I just don't understand that level of evil nor do I want to. My heart goes out to all the Victim's. That evening I felt so saddened and almost guilty that life has to go on and the victims families are having to deal with this pain.

Back to Black

Hey Everyone!

I know I haven't been updating a whole lot lately! I'm sorry! Life gets so busy! Any-who I am often inspired and always looking for different types of inspirations. As everyone knows I really love Pink.... Another color I really enjoy is black. The Hub is not a fan of the black so I don't use it often. I had the Idea of painting my dining room black, He looked at me like I had lost all sense of reality. lol. As he often does. I have created Black Decor File, where I store all my black inspirations. These are photos that I have saved and I wish I had the credits to these photos, because I would really like to include them.

I really enjoy the contrast of the bed and the bedding.
This screams old Hollywood glamour.

I live for stripes...especially black and white stripes. They always add a classic look.

I mean the gold and black accents are like butter. I just love it.

Bedroom Reveal Part II???? J.K. The Hub would kill me!.

Thank you all for Visiting! I promise once things slow down here I will start "Designing." I want new living room drapes and cushions. As well with the Kitchen! The Hub is super busy and things over here crazy.

Pasadena, CA

Hey Everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend! I was having one of those weekends, so the Hub and I decided to head to the Pasadena City College. They host a Flea market every 1st sunday of the month. With the blog in mind, we got a little side tracked and I just had to snap pictures of the neighborhood for you guys.

Pasadena is such a great city, great shopping, great dinning and beautiful homes. It is located north east of Downtown L.A.. The homes are classic with the most manicured yards and just an open feeling. You use to see homes like this in Beverly Hills, but now they have either been remodeled or are hiding behind extremely tall privacy hedges.

Take a look....

Hope you enjoyed them....

M.I.A.

Hello Everyone!

I hope all is well!.... Well I have been missing in action. I got a little distracted this last week and didn't have a chance to blog. I wanted to give you guys a mini update.

I'm always being asked by friends, family and their friends for decorating advice or help. This particular room was The Hubs sisters home. I decorated this room December of 2011. It was a challenge as it is a rental home and nothing major would be allowed by the landlord.

The first issue was the flooring! It was unappealing tile throughout the house, so changing it was out of the question. I manage rental properties here in the Los Angeles area, so I have a few connections. I had my carpet guy create a custom size rug for the entire living room. The challenge was sealing the edges on a large rug like this. He managed to come through and did me this huge favor.

DISCLOSURE: These pictures were never intended to be shown, so it was not properly staged. They were just for my personal pictures.lol... read on...

I wanted to do something different then I would do in my home. The Hub painted the walls this beautiful blue. The Hub and his sister are both colored blind so they think it is green lol, as long as I know what color it is! She has 4 kids, so I knew comfort was a must. As we were going furniture shopping, she showed me couches shes was drawn to and I would tell her if it would work. She finally settled on these. The brown cushions came with the sofa, although I didn't care for them much, she liked them and kept them.

I actually bought my blue velvet sectional while shopping for her! lol

The large ottoman, the Hub picked out and I thought it was nice for the kids to have fun on it and  offers plenty of storage.

My prize were these side tables. I bought them at Home Goods for $149.00 and I knew they were a steal. I found them at Nieman Marcus on sale $499.00! Original price $629.00!!! She picked out those white fuzz balls..shes the client so she got them lol. The lamps I cant remember where I got them from, But they are great!

We also bought this beautiful mirrored chest, but I never took a picture of it. When I get a chance and head over there I will snap a few more pictures.

Always,

Wednesday!

Hey Everyone!

I hope your week is going great! Here are a couple of pictures that the Hub took around the yard. They looked great, so I stole them from him. I thought you guys would enjoy them. He has me on a break from designing anything! He needs a break. I finally let him in on the kitchen idea and he's on board, its going to take a while since work for him is a bit insane for the next month or so. Of course I will keep you all posted when I start.

My First Wedding!

Hey Everyone! Happy Weekend!

Last year I had the opportunity to help a bride on a budget.
I have a talent with working on a budget.
My "Closest" friend.... I will refer to her as my "Other Sister" from now
on. She is not just my "Closest" friend, she in genuinely my other sister.
She has been there for me since design was just a dream, just
one of my biggest supporters.

She introduced me to an acquaintance
of hers that was getting married, but on an extreme budget when it came to
the floral arrangements. Of course my Other Sister knew it would be something I would be
interested in. She knows I work Miracles.

The ceremony would be held at a golf course that has an altar for weddings.
The venue had a tight schedule of weddings that day. so I was told that the flowers needed
to be something that would need to be taken down fast.
I was up for the challenge and this is what I created.

INTRODUCTION: The Hub! My best worker!

As far as her center pieces, she wanted a very organic feel for her floral arrangements
and the mason jars were a must for her. The wedding was a backyard
wedding, so she wanted that garden theme. This is what I came up with...

Not bad for my first Wedding.... I didn't take any photos of them placed on the tables because
I delivered them the evening before, due to the fact that I wouldn't have time to deliver
the arrangements and still complete the Altar. We're only a team of 2!

Hope you guys enjoy it!

I'm Back Online!

Hey Everyone!

How I've missed you guys! My internet has been down since Monday! It has been so difficult and frustrating. After many phone calls with my ISP, Finally I'm ONLINE. I've had to rely on my Sprint service which is horrible here where I live.

Lets get back to business....

Last year I started my silver collection. I was given 2 pieces from my closest friend, and that started it all. They belonged to her dearest Grandmother and she knew I would cherish them. They were from the 40's and I was so honored to receive them. So now my new mission is to find great quality pieces that I know I will use. I've gotten some at Estate Sales, some were given by The Hub's mom. So here is what I have collected so far.

This is a picture I took on my iphone many moons ago of my tray that has a permanent home here on my coffee table. The Hub's mom gave me this one because she knew I would love it and display it in my home.

Furniture Day

Hello Everyone! Geez its almost Friday! This week has gone by so fast that I can't believe the weekend is right around the corner. This has been an amazing week for me and this blog. I was featured on several other blogs. Today I have the privilege to be featured at Courtney's
On
For my Bedroom Reveal
As a NEW blogger, I never expected to be featured on anything. I started this blog to use it as an outlet to share my ideas, thoughts and projects. I have met such wonderful people that are so supportive and I'm so thankful. I have so many dreams and hopes for my design future and I am excited to bring you guys along. For a long time, design was a fire in my heart and I had no outlet to share it. It was also a secret that I was almost afraid to say that this is what I wanted to do. I guess I was afraid what people would think. Now as I get older (27), I am becoming more comfortable with myself and who I am. I have great friends and family that believe in me and give me encouragement to do what I was born to do.
So nothing but THANK YOU to everyone!
Any-who, enough of all the sappy thoughts! I told you guys that I would share some more of the pictures I took the day we went to Big Daddy's Antiques. After leaving BD we went to a furniture district close by and saw some great pieces.
Here you go....
Now if I could write a check for everything you see here I would have!

I mean that side table along with the lamp, is to die for.

Just amazing....

You guys might recognize this bed from my other post My Dream Bed

This chair was perfect!

This is usually too modern for me, but with the right chairs it could be just right.

I have a project in my head this could be perfect for.

These two pictures I found from Big Daddy's Antiques. These planters were priced above a thousand... so they stayed right there.

Hope you enjoyed!

Always,
